I’m getting to that stage with Flylady where I look around me and think “Oooh that’s tidier, that’s clear etc. etc.”. Like at the moment, I’m sitting here in the living room, looking at the reasonably clear floor (my definition of a reasonably clear floor – you can see a good proportion of it), a dining room table that just has the kids shoes on it (not the best place for shoes I know but at least they’re together and I know where they are and they can’t be moved by any little wondering hands (last time we had to go to physio I couldn’t find Boy Lacer’s special boots as he’d hidden them in the laundry basket!) and as for the sofa, the only thing that shouldn’t be on it is a kids cook book and I can live with that, so I’m looking at all this and thinking “How did that happen?” So safe to say I actually think Flylady might be working for me! Can you tell I’m surprised! If I can just keep this up I think it might get easier as it’s easier to tidy something that’s already reasonably tidy, even if sometimes with the kids I feel like as far as housework is concerned I’m forever running on the spot because as I tidy they create chaos. Anyway today you’re meant to add a bedtime to your routine and stick to it, ok I’ll put it down in writing, I will not go to bed any later than midnight, I just can’t say I’m going to bed at 10pm or anything like that, spending all day with the kids I value my ‘me time’ too much, although it’d have to be 10pm if I wanted my 8 hours but 8 hours what’s that these days?
Anyway, a busy day for me today, nursery is now forever added to our weekday routine and we have to fit in everything around that now, so today’s that’s fitting in physio in the morning, with nursery in the afternoon, plus we’re out of goats milk which sadly can’t get round the corner shop. I’d been thinking that as long as I shopped wisely we could skip the shopping trips we used to have into town, or at least make them less frequent as it’s going to be to much of a rush (quite looking forward to the money saved there). Most basics like bread and milk can be brought at the corner shop nearby but sadly goats milk which I need for Boy Lacer, can’t be. So can’t get it this morning because of physio, can’t really get it this afternoon whilst Girl Lacer is at nursery as Boy Lacer really needs his nap, so I think it’s going to have to be a late trip into town after nursery then. So, a busy day, must try and do some housework whilst Boy Lacer naps this time today, got a horrible sore throat though, don’t know if it’s a bug or a long lasting allergic reaction, Girl Lacer the charming child unzipped one of the sofa cushions yesterday and inside is full of feathers which I’m sensitive to, my sore throat started when I was putting the cushion back in the cover, that was yesterday afternoon though, so a bit of a long lasting reaction.
