NaNoWriMo – words are flying (trying to get a day ahead)

I’ve got past my ‘setting up’ bit of my NaNoWriMo story, it’s a sci-fi story so there’s quite a bit of world creation first but a quarter of the way in and we’re well and truely in the plot now and as I get into the plot the words are coming a hell of a lot more easily and it’s a lot more fun. I just couldn’t (or maybe I’m not experienced enough in this genre (or at all really)) go straight into the plot, any possible readers (somehow doubt there’s going to be any) wouldn’t have a clue what was going on (in a bad way) or why the characters were acting like they were. I’m a bit worried though it’s turning into a bit of a feminist diatribe, do women really in a great enough majority even read sci-fi? The main character is female and all the ‘wronged’ characters are female and the people in the positions of power tend to be men and it’s all about how when there’s a significant population of people trying to flee a dying planet in one ship how the people in command tend to excert their influences supposedly for the good of the species but in a way that infringes on the liberties of the people on board this ship which they can do easily because being stuck on a space ship there is literally no where to run, no other authority to seek redress with. Still, it’s fun. Just trying to get a day ahead at the mo as I know I won’t be doing hardly (if at all) any writing on Saturday, so far about a third of a day a head.
