Doctor Who on Children in Need

Well, the now annual Doctor Who special on BBC’s Children in Need has been and gone, if you missed it it’s here (including a rather nice ‘making of’, the Doctor Who crew can’t do anything these days without doing a behind the scenes!).

I thought it was nice, didn’t blow my socks off but it was only 7 minutes, I liked though the last scene where David Tennant’s Doctor thanks Peter Davison’s Doctor, saying that he was ‘his Doctor’ which he would have been (and mine to, to some extent, although I’ve got a soft spot for Sylvestor McCoy to, just don’t mention Colin Baker!). Can’t wait for that Christmas special!

50%

Yippety do dah, Yippety yay, My oh my I’ve just made 50% today!

(Only one day behind)

I’ve just spent the last hour writing, clicking the word count button far more obsessively than I normally do and yipee I made 25 000 words, so half way, though actually now that a third part to my previously two part story has popped out of the woodwork, I am now no longer worried that my story is not going to peter out before the 50k is up and I reckon my final tally will be (if I do finish writing it) around 60k.

I have currently just relatively recently started on part 2, which is the part that has popped out of the woodwork so is distinctly unplanned compared to the other two parts and there has been quite a bit of staring at a blank screen recently and I was tempted (like some of the recent NaNoWriMo advice e-mails have said) to skip any of the parts I was having trouble with and go on to the ‘fun’ part, which is for me the more well planned part 3, but I was worried that something would crop up in part 2 that would have made part 3 severely out of step, so I’m sticking with part 2 for the moment.
