The rest of the reviews for Tales of Beedle the Bard now on Amazon!

The rest of the reviews for the stories from The Tales of Beedle the Bard are now up on Amazon’s site, much as I’d like to read the real thing of course, it was nice reading the general gist of the stories. I thought the third story ‘The Warlock’s Hairy Heart’ sounded particularly gruesome but I liked the sound of all five of the stories. It makes me really look forward to the next thing J.K. Rowling produces, she’s definitely got more than one story in her, she could have easily of had just one good idea (the Harry Potter series) and that could have been it. I don’t know if she wants to write more wizard and witch stories or if she wants to do something completely different (I heard she wanted to write a crime novel) but I think she’d be able to add her unique style to anything and seeing the photos of the drawings in Beedle the Bard, maybe it should be something illustrated next?

Moan, moan, moan, whinge, whinge, whinge

I’ve just been to drop Girl Lacer off at nursery, I’m a bit gutted as today she had to take a festive lunch box for her nursery party, containing an angel gingerbread man and a foil covered chocolate reindeer and as the instructions had said to make the lunch box look festive I’d gone out and brought some stickers for it to. Girl Lacer off course wanted to carry her lunchbox which unfortunately opened halfway down the road spilling it’s contents everywhere, bye bye biscuit, bye bye reindeer (foil had opened up), I don’t know about her but I could have cried! I’d had been looking forward to letting her have something ‘nice’ in her lunchbox as it’s normally a healthy eating school and although she does get a far few gingerbread biscuits (they’re mine and the kids guilty treat), they’re never the really fancy iced ones as they’re a bit expensive, a standard gingerbread man is a 1/3 the price and as for the reindeer, they’re a bit pricey to and I never give the kids chocolate as Boy Lacer can’t have any so it seems unfair to let Girl Lacer have chocolate in the house, yet unfair not letting her have it just because of Boy Lacer if you know what I mean, so I thought “ahh a chance for Girl Lacer to have chocolate away from Boy Lacer!” and she’d been looking at these chocolate reindeer in the shops for ages! Luckily she actually wasn’t that bothered, her boyfriend best friend S offered to share half his cake and orange bless him (as he was telling Girl Lacer off for not being careful with her lunchbox) and anyway the school had some crisps and cakes anyway (which made me think why where we told to bring in stuff anyway?).

Anyway roll on Christmas, part of me will be glad when it’s all over and we can start looking forward to spring! The house is a tip, it always is on a Monday, even though we weren’t even here on Saturday and I’m fed up that it’s always down to me and the fact that Mr. Lacer thinks I’m the messy one, yes I’m not the tidiest person on the planet but he needs to take his share of the blame to, weekends recently have involved me going out for various reasons leaving dh with the kids and each time I come back at the place is a tip, why is that? After all I can be in the house all day with the kids on my own with them and ok the house isn’t pristine but it looks like a darn sight better, like oh I don’t know the dishwasher has been loaded, the washing machine is on, there’s space to sit down on the sofa, you can see the floor! So much as it’ll be of course nice to have Mr. Lacer home over the holidays (a week and a half), it would not surprise me if I can’t open the door for all the mess afterwards!

Anyway after dropping Girl Lacer off at nursery I popped into the post office to collect a parcel, half an hour of queuing later and it was not the parcel I had expected (I was expecting a book, come to think of it where’s that book gone to?) instead it was a giant box, so I struggled home with that. Turned out to be a planter, which I ordered at the same time as I sucumbed and ordered a garden from Rocket Gardens (see my post about it here (point .3)).
