The Sewing Box finally arrived!

Ok, this post is a couple of days late but still my new sewing box from Cath Kidston finally arrived ooh about a month after I ordered it, having said that I’m not complaining too much, they were out of stock and I suspect they’d had to get another bunch of them made in the Phillipines (‘made in Phillipines’ label on the bottom of the box), hopefully not in a sweat shop, a quick check on google doesn’t suggest it and actually from the smell of the box it smells like it’s been made in some family home somewhere as grandma made something aromatic to eat in the corner (the interior of the box smells distinctly spicy). Anyway the box is lovely, beautiful (and very much lusted after by not only me (when I saw it in the shops pre-Christmas) but my 4 year old daughter), feels robust (so hopefully not going to fall apart) and is capacious and roomy, holding virtually my embroidery / knitting / crochet materials except for my knitting needles. Yes at £40 it was expensive, specially for somebody who’s main sewing activity is sewing name tags, however I do enjoy craft when I have the time and I need to store the stuff somewhere! And this box should last and if Girl Lacer still lusts after it in 40 years time, she can have it :)

    Hi Ching

It’s gorgeous isn’t it? I fell in love with it when I saw it in the shops pre-Christmas. Here in the UK it’s £40 and it’s from Cath Kidston although I’ve seen some department stores sell it to.
