4 things

  1. I saw The Departed with Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and more stars than you could throw a stick at, on DVD last night. It was rather good but also rather long, I had a quick nap in the middle during the scenes when the gangsters and the cops were both trying to work out who their moles were but luckily woke up just before a key scene, so I don’t think I missed much. I thought the ending was particularly good and not particularly expected, it’ll stay with me for some time. I have a not very secret desire to script write and that is the sort of movie I’d like to write.
  2. I learnt exactly how big a fat quarter is today and was pleasantly surprised, so even more than I expected lovely material to play with, if only I could pluck up the courage to start quilting.
  3. I got lots of washing done today (I can almost see the top of the kids laundry basket now) thanks to the lovely weather, the kids even played outside after nursery today, shame the 5 day forecast now says it’s going to rain for the next five days.
  4. I didn’t win a writing contest today (not new!) but the entry I thought should win (not mine) didn’t win either, although saying that the winning entry is still good. It’s a ‘write the next chapter’ competition and it’s down to the public vote which is not the most ‘literaturely accurate’ I know, however I already have an idea for the next round . . .
