That’s in with showbusiness for me for a while
This summer so far seems to have been about ticking things off. Book selling was ticked off a while ago for the summer and now the ballet show is over and I’m exhausted. Today was my turn to help back stage, shepherding six bunnies all day, tiring work. I was though, once again, totally impressed with the professionalism of what is really just a part time after school / Saturday dance school, particularly amongst the older students, who were brilliant with the little kids (as well as being great dancers). Like I said yesterday, a great advert for the next x amount of terms ballet school fees we’ll be paying.
So now I’m tired, coldy and resting a sore dodgy ankle (from my running escapades yesterday), I virtually staggered back whereas Girl Lacer, who’d done 3 shows this weekend, at only 4, had the energy to run down the final street home. She’s been a star all weekend, with some fantastic, very grown up behaviour from her when it was needed but still with the ability to act like a 4 year old when she demonstrated some unorthodox methods of getting into her seat at the posh cafe we went to for tea afterwards!
