Sorry, but he hates baths anyway and he’s been extra whingy today (don’t worry I will give him a bath in a minute).
It’s been a quiet day today (apart from the whinging), we’re still on staycation but a bit stuck what to do because of the extremely unreliable weather (has autumn come early?). When we were woken up by the 7am chorus that is Girl Lacer, it was raining, so I suggested (some would say ordered) Mr. Lacer to take Girl Lacer swimming at some point today, so I could stay at home and do some much needed tidying (unfortunately just because I’m on holiday doesn’t mean the flat tidies itself, or so I’ve discovered).
But first I had a run to do and like I say it was raining, so that didn’t make me want to get out of bed. Luckily by the time I’d unearthed my running kit it had stopped, so off for a spot of very muddy cross countrying. I ran from one corner of the park to another, keeping off the hill to the end, which wasn’t meant to be the end, I had planned to run from one corner to the other, run up the hill and then run across the ridge of the hill and then back down home again. However by the time I got to the top of the hill I was so knackered I had to stop at ‘only’ 4.7km and consequently had to walk back. I used the opportunity though to walk back along another route which is even more cross country and therefore even more fun but the climb up the hill is more gradual so shouldn’t finish me off. Will definitely try it next run! I’m so hoping all this hill work is increasing my stamina so that when I come to run the hopefully flat 10k in Wembley at the end of the month I can actually do it!
So back home after a very pretty walk (and discovering this weird abandoned building all fenced off, a dome in the ground with a long corridor like entrance, that piqued my interest wondering what that was!). Girl Lacer and Mr. Lacer went swimming after lunch, first time in a very long time, considering Boy Lacer’s aforementioned dislike of baths (he won’t even sit in the water), I’m not trying swimming with him any time soon! I tried to make a dent in the housework, it still looks like we’ve been burgled though!
