Grumpy

It is quite sad that my mental well being is so obviously tied up with the functioning of household appliances. Our washing machine that I thought still just about worked (as long as you like sopping wet, cold washing), now definitely doesn’t work, as not only is the washing sopping wet (the last load is currently hanging over the bath, it’s still dripping, a day later) but is now covered in white soap marks and actually not even clean (Boy Lacer’s trousers still covered in mud). So we now have no functional washing machine, Mr. Lacer has ordered a new one but it’s from one of those cheap internet sites (which we’ve used before, so they are ok) and we don’t currently know when it’s going to come. I’d almost be for paying an extra £100 just to get it from somewhere like John Lewis or Currys, just so we knew straight away when it was coming! Mr. Lacer is under the impression I should be going to the launderette, I’d like to see him try that with Boy Lacer in tow. So I’ve just brought some travel wash stuff, I’ll wash Girl Lacer’s uniform etc. but other than that for the moment I’m ‘happy’ to let the washing mount up, Mr. Lacer can wash his own underpants.

It’s not just the washing machine, Boy Lacer has tied himself in a right knot mentally about filling his nappy and it’s causing him to get actually physically constipated and it makes dealing with him just a little bit harder, which means trying to keep control of this chaos is proving even harder. So there was no / minimal housework Thursday and Friday, housework over the weekend is always difficult with all four of us here, we’re literally tripping up over each other. So now the housework is four days behind and counting and four days ago the flat was already in a chaotic state!

I guess I better go do it then, specially as I’m tutoring here tonight, currently my student wouldn’t even be able to get to the table!
