I bet you thought I wasn’t knitting anymore? As it’s been a while since I finished scarf 3, but that’s because as you can see, scarf 4 is very very long (and as it seems to be a problem with me, a bit too wide).
Scarf 4 is an (early) Valentine’s Day present for Mr. Lacer. He wanted a Doctor Who length scarf, i.e. to around his knees and although for a long time I thought I wouldn’t be able to make it that long by the deadline, I’m amazed that I made it (you can’t really see the bottom of the right hand side of the scarf as it’s dark blue, but it actually goes past my knees). So, scarf 4 is not just any old scarf, no it’s super scarf, so long you could climb out of buildings with it, roll it up and use it as a pillow, use it as a blanket for small children, tie up broken limbs, you name it lol!
Knitted using 3 balls of Sirdar Denim Chunky, one each in dark blue, medium blue and white, I was originally planning to knit this scarf using the knit stitch as I haven’t done that stitch for quite some time but this turned out not to be the wool to relearn on, as the wool kept on splitting and separating as I struggled with each stitch. So I restarted it in my beloved purl. (Note: I’m not even sure I’ve got the stitch names right!). So anyway, there is now going to be an unplanned scarf 5, another scarf for me, this time definitely in knit stitch, as I’ve got some thinner wool that hopefully won’t separate out.
