Amy Butler Bag

The lovely 5currantbuns made me a lovely bag the other day, you can see it here, as part of a crafty pass it on. I’ve had trouble finding people to pass on to, so I’ve, in the spirit of things, donated a large bag of new books to Boy Lacer’s playgroup, which are sort of ‘crafty’ as they’re all by Barefoot and their illustrations are beautiful (and I was ah hem reducing my stock), I will also (once I’ve sorted it out) donate my supply of fake craft fur to Girl Lacer’s school, so that all the junk sculptures will be furrified for at least a month (I really have no idea why I have so much of the stuff). So that left one more crafty thing to do, so to turn it into a circle of sorts I made 5currantbuns a bag in return, with some fabric very similar to my cushion fabric she had been admiring and more stripy fabric, because I still have so much of that stuff (incidentally with my stripy trousers, I was wearing them yesterday in John Lewis, where I had brought the fabric and the lady behind the till goes “Oh you made trousers, they’re . . . different” hmmmm). I sort of made the bag up as I went along, but it was inspired by a similar bag I saw in a patchwork book. It’s lined to, in pink fabric. Plus there’s an Aranzi Aranzo rabbit bag charm, as 5currantbuns likes Aranzi Aranzo to.
