And ironically it’s a bit rainy today and I have a cough / cold (I noticed from my blog last year I had a sore throat, end of year madness takes it out of the parents to).
Girl Lacer was at school until 2pm today, so me and Boy Lacer dropped her off and went and did a couple of errands at the GPs (I have a new to do app on my phone, it beeps and tells you whatever you’ve set it to do when you’re within a set distance away from wherever you need to do it, unfortunately the smallest distance you can set it is half a mile and the GP is less than half a mile from where we live, so my phone kept beeping me, which was getting annoying, so made me go to the GPs, so I could delete the task, so I guessed it worked). One of the things we needed to do at the GPs was to book Boy Lacer another dietician’s appointment, unfortunately the first one was quite a bit into September, so he will have to miss some school, we’ve been lucky previously, I’ve managed to schedule things so that he never missed much playgroup or nursery because of appointments, as he always had some time free, not from September obviously. The dietician appointment is to talk about Boy Lacer going gluten free and I was hoping to get to see her a lot earlier than September, as as far as I’m concerned right now there is not enough being done about Boy Lacer’s digestive issues, which is getting annoying (not the digestive issues, more the lack of investigation). We’ve got to the stage now with the movicol where too little causes him pain, too much causes him constant dirty nappies and there is no inbetween, so it made me wonder about trying going gluten free.
Anyway back to the last day before the holidays, after the GPs it was a quick trip to the playground (I will sooo miss the pre-school crowd times in the playground, a lot quieter and calmer) and then home for Boy Lacer to play MarioKart pretty much all day, which he liked.
Once Girl Lacer was picked up we had to run a few more errands, this time to the post office and then on to get ice cream, which is getting to be an end of year ritual. Boy Lacer insisted that we go to the shop where “grandad buys ice creams”, which grandad has done all of once but was luckily on the way home anyway (a local newsagent).
We’re now home, ice cream has been washed off faces, Girl Lacer has inflicted hangman on me and insulted the way how I push the pushchair (my bum sticks out apparently, which it does, most pushchairs are far too short for me, as I’m tall, so have to bend over slightly, plus Boy Lacer is getting way too heavy, that girl is getting too cocky), they’ve both eaten a lot of sugar, are requesting more sugar and Boy Lacer has had a tantrum because on the way back from going out again, as I actually forgot to post the letters I had bought the stamps for at the post office, I made him walk across the grass to the front door (so he remained in my line of sight) and he didn’t want to go on the grass because it was water apparently (an imaginary game from Girl Lacer being taken too literally).
So what do I do with them for six / eight weeks?
