Mr. Lacer’s Valentine’s Card

I made it, I managed to complete all three Valentine’s in the space of about a week. Mr. Lacer’s Valentine, up there on the pile of books I insist he reads (I don’t inflict every book I read on him but in the great Venn diagram of mine and Mr. Lacer’s conflicting tastes in books, there is some overlap, so I inflict those books on him – he isn’t a great reader), it was the last one I stitched, luckily it didn’t take too long (although maybe if I’d had a little more time I would have found a more appropriate colour for their uniforms, as believe it or not, I may have just bought 260 skeins of floss, but I didn’t have even remotely near the right colour really. And talking about colour, the aida I stitched it on is meant to be light blue, hmmmm, one of the hazards of ordering online I guess. Anyway the pattern is a Pixel People pattern from Wee Little Stitches, I highly recommend a pop over to their shop, as they have loads of other great Pixel People, I have to admit I already have the Scooby Doo pattern, but I know Girl Lacer would really like the Harry Potter ones.

Anyway the kids both loved their little Valentine’s cushions, Boy Lacer is particular loved his mole and seemed very taken with it, he immediately made me a card with a blue feather on it and some writing which he put a lot of effort into (writing is probably the one thing he’s ‘struggling’ with at the moment in school, he is reading incredibly well, probably at about year one level now and his maths is good to, but with the writing he has issues with pencil grip).

Mr. Lacer gave me a lovely box of Lush stuff (so I’ll stop nicking his shower gel to use as bubble bath for at least a few weeks ;) ).

I have so far spent my Valentine’s Day going into town after dropping the kids off at school and forgetting my wallet (I realised just before the checkout person was about to beep my shopping through), so as much as I was tempted to just go home and give up, I knew I’d just be postponing what I had to do till tomorrow, so that would be two wasted mornings, so I went home, got my wallet, then went out again. Unfortunately though I still will have two wasted mornings as whilst I was out the first time, the postman tried to deliver a parcel which was too big, so tomorrow I will have to walk across to the other side of town to pick that up. Not a productive start to the working week!
