Well I liked it! I’ve just been lurking on some Doctor Who forums which are always good for a laugh as it’s always whinge, whinge, whinge, whinge (possibly because alot of them are upset they’re not writing/directing/producing/starring as the Doctor themselves). They forget that Doctor Who isn’t written for the nations nerds but is just good old family entertainment and Voyage of the Damned certainly hit the mark on that front tonight (although as a family, our two gave up and went to bed but they’re only 4 and 2!). A take on the Poisedon Adventure / Towering Inferno (two of my favourite movies), I particularly liked the scene on the unstable ‘bridge’ across the fiery chasm. I thought David Tennant was very professional to, considering his bereavement during filming.
It was good to see the Doctor Who and Torchwood trailers, Catherine Tate still looked annoying (although Mr. Lacer was laughing at her comedy lines, goes to show you can’t please everyone in TV), although I did like her line where she said something along the lines of “I can’t tell what’s right or wrong with you anymore,”, in reference to the doctor, sounds very dark. But talking of dark, I did like the Torchwood trailer, James Marsters looks cool, all very high octane, can’t wait!
PS (added 30/12/07) I’ve noticed on my blog stats that I’m being linked to from a certain Doctor Who forum, I would like to point out that the forum I referred to as being full of whingers is not yours (more than one Doctor Who forum you know), although I wouldn’t actually know, I’m not a member of your forum, so are you guys being paranoid or is your forum full of whingers to?
