The Anatomy of Ghosts

There’s something about Christmas that’s perfect for period stories, specially if they have ghosts in, so The Anatomy of Ghosts by Andrew Taylor was a good choice for my latest audiobook listen. Set in London and Cambridge in the 18th century, it tells the story of a bereaved bookseller, John Holdsworth, who is sent to Cambridge college Jerusalem by Lady Oldershaw, to investigate why her son Frank had claimed to see a ghost. Holdsworth soon finds himself embroiled in madness, debauchery, mystery and romance. This book was ok, it’s not my most favourite book this year by far but it was atmospheric and I always enjoy books set in areas I know and I know both Cambridge and London well.
