Station Eleven

Station ElevenStation Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh I loved this book, I think it’s utterly beautiful. Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel is a story set around both sides of an apocalypse; on the pre-apocalypse side there’s a jaded actor and his many wives and on the post-apocalypse side there’s the Travelling Symphony, a band of musicians and actors armed with Shakespeare and weapons. It is just so so good, it’s very much about how we don’t appreciate what we have in the here and now and sleepwalk onto wrong paths in life. It’s not often a book makes me want to run screaming down the road, forcing multiple copies of this book onto everyone I pass, screaming “read this! you have to!” but this book does.
