The Damage Done

The Damage Done (Inspector McLean #6)The Damage Done by James Oswald

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Inspector McLean is back, the detective who is pathologically incapable of leaving well enough alone. In this one he is back working for the SCU (the Sexual Crimes Unit) when a raid against an Edinburgh brothel goes rather wrong. The naturally suspicious McLean suspects a cover up.

Meanwhile there are a number of deaths across the city where shall we say, the people involved ‘died happy’, McLean sticks his oar in there too.

I always like McLean books because they’re great police procedurals, there’s a great cast of supporting characters (with their associated lives) and the deftest of touches of the supernatural, that’s so subtle for most of the book, you’d think you were reading a ‘normal’ crime novel. I can’t wait for the next one!
